head light bulb updates, '89 Carrera?

I want to update the 'stock' head light bulbs on my '89 Carrera, to get more light to the road, what is the watt rating for the 'stock' bulbs? I prefer to trade out bulbs only, and keep the 'stock' lights...any suggestions? thanks...
