He is going to try to offset his costs by chartering the planes out when he is not flying on them. As well he will try to use his name to draw in customers.

Lets see if it works or not... that said, the charter market is slowly getting better and it very well may work out.

I see lots of switches and circuit breakers on the right side that would be hard for a pilot to reach. I'm an experienced switch flipper, so feel free to call me if you need me. I promise not to hog the stick; you can do all the flying. I'd rather look out the window.

I think the last jet I bagged a ride in was a Citation X. Nice plane, but the cockpit was nowhere near as modern as the one you fly.

Looks very nice, Joe. The Human Factors folks were on step. I have flown some amazingly clugged-up cockpits over the years...stuff that is hard to make up.

Its very "gee whiz" in this one. You can put all sorts of charts up on the #2 MFD. Range goes from 2.5 miles out to 1200 miles, so very nice to see your route. Has geo-political maps on as well showing FIR boundaries, mountains, countries and so on, things that we dreamed about 10 years ago. The taxi and 10-9 (ILS) chart even show a small green airplane moving on the chart exactly where you are on the approach or taxiway. Very nice safety tool.

For a bit more idea what its like, our engineer took a short video that is on YouTube. Quality is poor and the plane looks terrible inside. We were just returning from 3 months based in Moscow and flying around the world. Still it shows a bit...

Bob, I flew this bird, Challenger 605 #2 off of the line around the world for the Bombardier factory in 2007. Was the 7th pilot typed in the 605 series.

I can never understand why some guys always take your headsets off. Just about everybody I fly with who is over mid 50s always wants to take them off. Is it an age thing? ;)
I will miss 75% of radio calls without headsets and I always get a headache because of the AM radio sounding speaker blaring in my ear when I dont wear them. Sometimes I use the Telex 850s and sometimes the Bose. (both with noise reduction) You can barely feel them on your head even after several hours. They do tend to mess up your hair though, but for some reason I dont think you care about that......

We are not flying the legs like you do. The 605 is a 9 hour (sometimes longer) machine and has good speakers in the cockpit, not those tinny things that are in the RJ. Besides this was a brand new airplane with low flight times on it, so quiet inside.

We usually use the Telex 750's, non noise units as the 605 cockpit is so quiet. I do have the Telex 850's and Bose NC but its overkill in the Challenger.
