this seems to be where everyone is? Could use some help.

Hi, since this seems to be where everyone is, I could use some help! I have a 1986 325, and my dash oil symbel light is on, someone suggested to turn my key to just before it starts, take a paperclip, and go from no7 first to number 1 for 5 to 8 seconds, I only have the pacman plug with 15 pins, others say to go from 7 to 19, well I cant, because I only have 15! Any suggestions, disabled after 6 failed back surgerys and cash is tight, any help would be great, it is annoying to keep seeing that light!
