Question BC Collector yearly car insurance cost

I was just wondering if anyone else is paying approximately $890 a year for Collector plates/insurance in BC.Mine is a 1984 3.2 Targa Carrera and I had to do a double take when the White Rock Autoplan agent tallied up.Thanks and regards,

Peter

Good gawd that's a ton of money! I love my Carrera, but I'd think twice if I had to pay that kind of yearly premium.

I have multiple "collector cars," with a collector insurance company (in addition to daily drivers). Since you can't drive more than one car at a time, the cost to add an additional vehicle is comically low. To add my G50 Carrera cost me a whole . . . wait for it . . . $60. Per year.

That sounds way too high, a friend of mine has an 84 wide body (rare) and pays about $350/year. My 87 930 costs me just under $1200/yr and I thought that was high so I called and asked, the lady said that she could not compare my costs to his or yours cause she would need the insurance form to compare the policy's. She told me that it could be the rarity of the 930, or the fact that its not 25 yrs old and gets the coverage cause of the low numbers, she also said the turbo could aslso affect my cost for coverage. It didn't sound right to me cause my buddies wide body was produced in less numbers than the 930. I called ICBC and eventually got the number of some one who knows and if you PM me I'll send it to you. Got lots of good help from this gal, stuff like never cancell your coverage cause then you have to sign back up the next time you insure, the pic's , the Air Care etc.... let your coverage expire and keep your plates, switch to storage insurance. FYI my 930 passed Air Care with out the Cat convertor and I also got poor info on the coverage from a White Rock agent.
