Everlast 80lb bag - Stand options [would you use a 70lb stand?]
Hey Pelicans,
Looking to use my 80lb Everlast bag at my in-laws house. Cannot suspend it from the ceiling, so I need to purchase a stand. Do not need a speedbag stand, just something for the heavy bag. I've found some smaller 70lb bag stands that look like they would do the deed. EVERLAST HEAVY BAG STAND (FLAT BASE) Looking at that, these style stands all say 'up to 70lbs'. Will the stand be unstable? I doubt it would collapse, but would it be a waste of money? Thank you for your input. ![]() (Though now just thinking of buying one of these... http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3200916&CAWELAID=253321931 ) =)

I have one similar to your first option, but I think my bag is 60-70lbs. Either way expect you'll need a few bags of sand or something similar on the base. If you get after it you'll move the base around a bit.

That makes sense... but I don't have to worry about stand 'failure' though, right? I mean, that tube steel should be able to hold a lot of weight!

Mine isnt the great metal, I expect most residential versions are pretty cheap. I would give it a shot. I just remembered I busted the standard hardware, get a few stronger eye bolts or s-hooks from HD.
