All the above advice is very good, My brother owns a resturant ( in it's 29th year) and indeed it is a lot of hard and trying work. It seems to me of all the ones that I have seen open and close.......the ones that made it where well backed and started by younger people who believed that they where the exception.
Good luck should you decide to go down this path.

There's an article in this month's Food&Wine, The Rise of Restaurant A.D.D.

You may want to check it out. Twitter + Truck with a little Facebook thrown in could be a good option to break into the restaurant business these days.
