Homeland Security alert: Barrio Azteca may issue 'green light' to kill EP law officers - El Paso Times

until the common man rises up to squash the gangs, the gangs will have free reign. our law enforcement personnel cannot do that job without help, physical and terminal, from the common citizen.

i hope your brother remains safe.

vash 03-25-2010 07:02 AM

the common man needs to quit buying drugs...

nynor 03-25-2010 07:09 AM

i do hope your brother remains safe.

Anyone that buys drugs is part of the drug war killings.

masraum 03-25-2010 07:18 AM

if it's not drugs, they'll just do something else. It's less about what they are doing (drugs, robbery, whatever crime you can think of), than how they do it ("easy" money, the man not keeping them down, feeling like they have power (whether it's the one's with little peepees compensating or the real masterminds running the show).

Drugs is just one of the easy ways for them to do their thing. Although if all illegal drug use stopped today, it may slow things down for a bit, they'd come back and be doing something else.

It's a shame we can't REALLY declare war on the gangs. Send in the military in a take no prisoners, kill 'em all sort of thing. Obviously, that won't happen and practically, can't happen. But it sure is a nice fantasy.

It's too bad vigilanteism doesn't work like it does in the movies.

I'll say a little prayer for your brother and the LEOs in EP.

What else is going to make the HUGE amounts of cash like drugs?

It is the massive money that makes it worth while.

+1 Also, give the El Paso cops the tools and the authority to answer appropriately.

Now why would i help the cops put down gangs when they would just put me in jail for doing so?

Fk that. If you don't want to be targeted as a cop by gang members, get a new job.

PS: The war on drugs is utterly stupid.

and thus it will keep on going.

agreed: the "fools errand on drugs" is what fuels the drug trade, keeps the CIA solvent, our jails full, and politicians elected.

At that point he quits being the common man.

If people just quit drinking all of the speakeasy's would close and .................

In other words, we should learn from history; Prohibition.

Why do you think the cartels are some of the biggest supporters of the War on Drugs and vilification of their own product?

Illegal and harder to obtain = higher prices.
