If they are indeed selling for over $100K in Europe, then I think there will be some back on the boat in the near future. Heck, I got offered one last year for $45K (didn't buy it, I guess I should have). The increase from $50K to $120K in Europe seems a bit steep, I'm not sure what's driving these prices. 1989 is considered the last and best of the G-series, and I guess these are the limited edition 1989 cars, so they will demand a premium.

Cool cars indeed...

I recall '89 Speedsters going for around $125K and more in the late 80s and early 90s. They were considered hugely collectible at that time. I think that's why you still see so many low mileage examples - a lot of people paid big $$ for them with the expectation they were going to make a killing.

They of course dropped from there, and seemed to stay in the $50-$75K range basically forever.

I think at least here in the US, they are now selling at an all time low, but even at an all time low, I think that still generally means in the $40s and up.

I've noticed that folk either 'get' Speedsters or they don't. There is not much middle ground.

I didn't much care for convertibles at all until I picked up this 964 model (aka The Whiteness...).

Quite a rare beast - 1 of 14 RHD (and 1 of 6 that came to Oz).

Its a magic car to DRIVE too, light, stiff etc

Factory color. It is called Glacier Blue (can't remember how it is spelled in German).
this particular car was delivered silver with black interior and repainted and retrimmed in france. It is stated on the vendor's site. The colour is Gulf blue from 73.
"slim" speedsters are much rarer than WTL ones, but they don't appear to command a premium, the looks of the WTL are much sought after. They should't have the fog lights as well I think.

[QUOTE=Dottore;5287519]... The only one that hasn't yet sold is the Gulf blue one.

my bad on the color. If the dealer says it is Gulf-Blue, then no contest here. It looked like my car (see leftmost), and my stamp says glacier-blue. It doesn't matter, I guess......we all love Porsches!!!! :)

Here's a mighty fine looking 964 Speedster. Price is steep, even for an OPC, at 105K Euro with 22K km.

A quick run through the ads reveals that there are no less than 4 yellow 964 speedsters fro sale in Belgium (= size of Maryland, population of Michigan).

CAB83, your car is in a nice and very rare colour, it's only the second one I see after an 84 cabrio over here in italy.

Andrea,

Thank you. Yes, I have been told many many times by experts at shows that I have a very rare color. 90 of the time, the conversation starts like: 1. Nice color, did you get it repainted? 2. No. 3. Are you sure? 4. Well, I had it reshot with same factory color. 5. Can I see the tag in the hood? 6 . Sure.

In 15 years, I have seen just 1 around the Malibu area.
