Nope. I have good spam filters.

My best friend has gotten three job offers out of the blue. When he was working as a photographer, a video game developer happened across some of his old work (he hadn't done any programming in 4+ years at that point). He was offered a job at Human Head.

Sony got wind of him, and offered him a job working on Gears of War II, but he turned them down. A few months later, Nvidia offered him a job.

I don't think I have, but I've heard about this. They ask for a resume, and then they use your resume, or at least parts of it, if I remember correctly. I think it's usually done by offshore people/firms.

Garage
I get 3 or 4 job offers a year that come in the mail. They are usually government jobs, some how they get my info from the state related to my certification. The last offer was to be the head plumber of a state prison, no thanks.

Why would one need to steel someone's resume??
Isn't it easier to just make one up?

date of birt: then
place of birth: there
Studies: Harvard law at the age of 12, PhD in Nuclear chemistry at 16
yada yada yada.....

The next step is they'll ask you to pay a fee for them to pass your contact information.
The transaction will be "guaranteed" as the multimillion transfer I'm about to get from Nigeria

Be careful...

That's bizarre.

A coworker today explained that, given a person's home phone number, you can charge 900-number services to that number. Apparently someone had signed him up for a variety of interesting subscriptions on web-sites using that capability. It occurs to me that people could be hunting resumes to collect home phone numbers.
