Anybody here use a body inversion table?
I'm considering getting one since I no longer stand on my head for 20 min./day and miss being downside-up.
Tons of info to Google; hoping for some personal testimonials from any users here re what to buy, how you like it, etc. Edit: I see COSTCO has the Teeter EP-550+ for $299. Think I'll go with that - return is a snap if I don't like it.

Long Time Age
Darisc,
My family had one about 25 years ago - so I can't speak to any particular current brand or make - but I can attest to the fact that they do help decompress/stretch your back and spine. My uncle gave it to us. He was a sport medic for the Olympic committee and got into selling a bunch of wierd stuff he saw there. At the time, before "TVmercials" they didn't move, so he gave one to us. It was pretty heavy duty, the type that you sit upright on, lock your feet in, lean back and balance, raise your arms over your head to go upside down. It was adjustable for individual height and was good to ~ 250 lbs. I would come home from crunching up my back at football and hang and twist for about a half hour - it was great; saved me trips to the chiropractor. My back gets jammed up every now and then - wishing I still had one. I have no doubt they could help a lot of people with back alignment problems. Gordo

they take up a lot of space, and are very heavy-duty. While there are plenty of other ways to decompress one's skeleton, that piece of kit does make it easy. IMO, they don't help with muscle imbalance - which seems to be the root of many back problems. YMMV.

![]() Done yoga for years, have a very flexible spine, but hiking down steep hills has brought on some lower back compression that causes painful cramping of the muscles that run down to the top of the buttocks - so now I'm a pain in the ass, complete with pain in the ass. ![]() Gotta nip this in the bud so I'm walking on the flat only, doing yoga and hope a table will help (I think I need traction - yoga doesn't provide that). This Roger Teeter guy (pictured) has apparently been marketing these the longest (COSTCO has it): Package - 49" x 29" x 8 1/2" Assembled - 48" x 27" x 61" high Package weigh - 69 pounds http://www.energycenter.com/ ![]() ![]()

My issue is spinal structure alignment - not muscle - seems to be a good maintenance product
