same for San Diego, no damage here.

speeder 04-04-2010 02:49 PM

6.9 in Baja, according to google. Shook pretty hard all the way up here in L.A.

Jim Bremner 04-04-2010 02:50 PM

cerritos, it was WAY LONGER THAN 10 seconds

Westy 04-04-2010 02:51 PM

Baja's building codes are terrible. That should cause some damage.

speeder 04-04-2010 02:53 PM

Here's a map:

32.0931,-115.2491(M6.9 - Baja California, Mexico - 2010 April 04 22:40:39 UTC) - Google Maps

My pool lost half its water. No other damage.

JFK713 04-04-2010 02:54 PM

USGS site says 6.9, that may cause some trouble. Shook pretty good here...

Ronbo 04-04-2010 02:56 PM

Felt it up in Oxnard.

DARISC 04-04-2010 02:56 PM

Felt it very briefly (2 or 3 seconds) - very mild here in Carlsbad.

First time I've had a tsunami in my pool. I'm in Bay Park and it was VERY strong. I felt like I was walking drunk when I got up to move outside.

Nawwwww, a bit of an exaggeration, but a lot of the water ended up outside the pool. Felt very strong here in south OC. I was trying to #2 upstairs the entire earthquake. That was interesting. The mimosa's played a part, too. :)

dd74 04-04-2010 03:40 PM

Pool here, too. It lost water as well. Sloshed around a good bit. The doorbell chimes were the eeriest, as they banged into each other for a while @ the rolling (note: not shaking).

Zeke 04-04-2010 04:15 PM

Very slow and soft roller in LB. Anything hanging was swaying no more than 3" but one plant basket I stopped began to sway again. I couldn't really feel it standing, but sitting it was a good one. I think my chair moved a 1/4 inch each way on the initial shock. I'd say I knew it was going on for half a minute.

I can see how a pool might react big time to that. I have no idea how the toilet bowl treated Richard. :D But with the mimosas and all, how did he know? ;)

ossiblue 04-04-2010 04:15 PM

We were walking our dogs, got home and I noticed water from our pool all over the deck--couldn't figure out what had happened! Had no clue there was a quake--didn't feel it at all on the walk. Went upstairs to get on line and felt a small shaker. Checked Google and that was the first I knew of the 6.9 in Mexico. Been two small ones since. We're in So Orange Co.

fingpilot 04-04-2010 04:42 PM

Am at Yuma proving ground. Sharp bounce followed by rolling, maybe 10 seconds worth. Have been several attention-getting aftershocks, all the same, bounce followed by rolls.

Suspect I'll not be sleeping well tonight.
