I don't know anyone personally, as in a friend, (present company excepted), that was also in the Corps. If I did, I'd have a brewsky with him or her. Semper Fi

We're having our annual celebration breakfast this Thursday honoring our employees and ex-employees who are veterans and we invite the local VFW colorguard and give them a donation, usually $10k.

We have quite a few veterans here, we just finished installing a new very large lighted flag pole and the veterans are going to perform the ceremony of raising the new flag for the first time.

They're Marines...let 'em do as they please. My thanks for their service over 235 years!

I spent about 7 Marine Corps birthdays with the Marines. Great groups of folks to be around, especially when things go bad...

I can imagine that's the truth! Reminded me of one happeneing here a few years back...a tale of a fight breaking out in an airport..Tacoma if memory serves. A batch of black gangsta wannabes decided to jump some "skinheads". The "skinheads" turned out to be Rangers dressed in civvies, just out of basic.

Be careful who you pick a fight with...

Same as each year - a short tumbler of Wild Turkey on the rocks and a few moments reflection of those that didn't come back.

Live your life as if it may end ...tomorrow.

But The Marine birthday is tomorrow, not to be confused with Veterans Day.

Understood, but we're combining the two into one celebration this year. I could have made that more clear but didn't. My bad.

A nice single malt toast to the Corps, and then call my godson's father with whom I went through college and then TBS.
