Phoenix AZ guys... anybody up for lunch?

The tax time accounting crunch has started to taper off. Anybody up for lunch in the near future?

Let's go here:

Pacific Seafood Buffet - Chandler, AZ- Pacific Seafood Buffet - Chandler,AZ - Home

Went there with my family last week and ran out of stomach long before I'd had a chance to try everything.

I'm up for it, but let me check them out and see if anything there is OK for me (gluten free).

Are fried hermit crabs gluten free? They had some interesting items available on the dinner buffet.

LOL, seriously? Chances are if it's (deep) fried it's not ok for me. Breaded = wheat = gluten. Even if it's not breaded, if it was deep fried it's likely cross-contaminated from the other stuff that's been fried that was breaded.

Yeah, this celiac disease thing kinda sucks.

Now, if you had suggested Fogo de Chao, I'd be there already wondering when everyone else was going to show up. Even their dinner rolls are gluten free!

Sunday is a possibility. Haven't decided what to do with my laptop yet. Not sure I want to pay for shipping to borrow a laptop to diagnose. Might just pull the hard drive and have someone copy it for me, shop for another cheapo laptop and reload.

The main problem is that the drivers that are on the hard drive for your existing laptop almost 100% will not be the drivers needed on the new laptop. Different video/audio cards and so on. As well the new laptop drive will be larger and faster. Simply swapping the HD to the new laptop would result in a slower laptop.

Cure for this is to go to Fry's and get a "external hard drive enclosure" for your drive. Cost is usually about $30 and you plug your old laptop HD inside and a USB cable to your new laptop. Then copy the data to the new laptop and go from there.

If you want to just pull the HD and have it copied, give it to me and can do it easily. Buy me a drink at dinner...

Hey guys, I keep seeing someone on PPOT who lives in the Carefree Hiway area.

Anyone know the gent? Lets get anyone who is new in the area to come to a PP get together! Not just us old guys who already know each other.

EDIT, also Mike Shores, AZ Porschekid, Don Davis and so on... you know, the guys who say they have a Porsche but never show up!

Jomax and Tatum, if the deal goes through. Appraisal came in low yesterday, but sellers might lower the price.

Pacific has a lot of stuff you'd find at dim sum... it's just on a buffet instead.

There's a decent one on W. Camelback, which is more central to everyone. It's called Great Wall, but it's packed on weekends.
