Patina rules

Thanks for the photos, David.

Through endless work in the past decade, Billl Warner has made Amelia a serious contender with Pebble Beach re the quality/significance of the cars involved.

Although certainly nobody's concours winner, my favorite is the ex Marko/Lennep 917 from the Collier collection, untouched since it's last race at the Spa 1000KM in 1971:

This car was at RRIII in 2007, (a few of my pictures below) and is one of the most beautiful cars I've ever seen.

Thanks for posting those, Tim... I agree... it's beautiful... I'd much rather see that one than one of the over restored ones.

SuperDave... re: the 356 in this photo...

Are my eyes playing tricks on me? It looks shortened. Is it the whitewalls? Or the lens you used?

I shot most of the full shots with a 18mm lens so that man be a little bit but I think its just an illusion quite possible by the whitewalls. That 356 was awesome - a pretty rare Continental

Would that be Barry's Continental (of the amazing Spartanette trailer story fame?)?

Byron, We must have been standing right next to each other, the bald guy on the left of your pic is my friend and I was standing right behind him talking pictures.
Cheers,
