Newly Discovered Asteroid to Pass by Earth on Thursday

The asteroid will fly within the Moon's orbit, 223,000 miles from the Earth, or about 9/10th the distance from the Earth to the Moon.The asteroid will be at its closest to the earth on 4:06 p.m. Pacific Standard Time (23:06 UTC).

The asteroid is around 71 feet (22 meters) wide was first discovered in Tuscon, Az. by the Catalina Sky Survey.
