Airline considers fee for lavatory use - CNN.com

STORY HIGHLIGHTS

* Ryanair may require travelers to pay for lavatory use on short flights
* Airline is working with Boeing to develop coin-operated door release

I would not be surprised if at some point in the future they'll require passengers to bring their own fuel.

That's what air sickness bags are for. My threshold will be higher than those of the cleaning staff.

Silly, why not just build in a $5 "environmantal surcharge" as an add-on to the ticket price.

Or sell sponsership/ads in the toilet. This toilet paper brought to you by iPad printed on the TP, this flush brought to you by Ford and this soap brought to you by Enron.

Airlines suck. What a foolish business model.

Charge $45 for a bag or a $1 to go barf in the bathroom.

Book the ticket a month ago, it's $450. A week ago its $900. Today its $320. Just stupid.

Not heard of these small timers, SWA and AA (cuz I be preferred) are still fee free from what I can see.

Actually they will get away with it.

They are one of the largest carriers in EU and it's all about the "bargain bin" price.

The whole experience is more like taking a cross town bus.

No checked luggage whatsoever, one carry on per passenger.

No trays in the seatbacks, adds weight.

Overheads are plastered with advertising just like a bus or subway.

No assigned seating but they fill it from the middle to front and back and block off entire sections if the plane is not full in order to keep it optimally balanced which equates to fuel economy.

Interiors are a hideous blue and yellow.

It's a "mass transit" airline.

Actually in terms of international passengers RyanAir ranks #1 compared to AA in 8th place.

They are not a long haul carrier.

Short hops around EU but a s**tload of them.

LOTS OF POOPY/PEE PEE SEATS even nicer. oh i'll be sure to book them say just before HOLIDAY when lots of kids are flying.

howz bout we shear the wings off and just launch the damn things to and fro like a rocket. ya know those wings weigh alot too!

we could get rid of the landing gear to save weight and just dump them in foam and some nets stretched across the runways.

I have flown one of the owners of Ryan Air. He is a cheap SOB and everyone who works for him hates him. Someday we hope that there is a special place in Hell for him...

I have known more than one friend to pee into a airsickness bag and leave it under the seat, planes are going to start smelling like Grand Central used to smell before Rudy got it cleaned up.

Wheels on bags was the start of the decline, people bring the largest bag they can find, cram it with shlt and then ask the petite flight attendant to put it in the overhead, it doesn't fit. Now the FA has to take it out for checking, time consuming, clogs the aisle and flight has to depart late.

Then there's the AH who puts his bag 5 seats back above your seat, takes all the overhead space so he can have legroom and when the flight lands has to be the first to get off to make that connection.

Rule should be: One carry-on, no exceptions, either it fits in overhead or under the seat.
