New Beetle TDI owners

Looking at buying an 06 Beelte with TDI loaded with leather and sunroof etc.
79K miles. Anyone have one like this? any good? anything to look out for?
comes with life time power train warranty.

might be able to pick it up for around 9K.

wth is a life time power train warranty? When the tranny goes, you get a replacement?

Your best bet is to head over to Fred's TDI club for info on those: TDIClub Forums - Powered by vBulletin

At 80K, you probably need to change the timing belt. Can be done by yourself but you need some special tools. At the same time do the tensioner, rollers and waterpump.

Yep the 80K maintenance items were done yesterday. I autocross with the maintenance technician and the sales rep.

Yes apparently as long as I show proof of the routine maintenance is being done then the warranty is good. For less than 10k I could convince myself to risk it and drive it as long as it runs.

Heck my F250 has 241K miles on it and runs like a top.

A new beetle and an F250? Bi-polar?

My wife wanted a new beetle convertible, but my 15 year old son thought it was to feminine (read: ghey) even for her! Of course, she didn't also drive an F-250.

Super Duty has specific purpose. Tow my race car, Haul dirt, haul family, support my business of hauling broke cars. and pull things other people can't. It also Hauls AZZ, trucks should not be this fast.

Getting a little old filling the 40 gallon tank @ 3 bucks a gallon. at least it is only every 600 miles.
