Banter is fine, as long as we remember that everyone here is pretty good people. Have a little respect, and remember that if you wear that face long enough, pretty soon it's going to be the real you.

It's a darned shame that so much goes on in the world that we become inured to the hardships of others.

Actually, something is always up with "Sam" (who, for example, openly stated here that he longs for the days of Kent State when the National Guard gunned down student protestors :rolleyes:).

"We" all don't become so inured. Again; why don't you discuss it with "Sam"? However, I'd suggest you read some of his many hate filled posts over the years before you attempt to do so.

Guys, let it go.

We had 5 employees get burned in a large fire and they died. Two others are severely burned and in critical condition. I did not personally know them but I have worked around them and many others who do the same work and it hit home.
I was involved in a similar tragedy at work in the 80's when I was burned and lost my best friend who was standing next to me.
I let this recent tragedy get to me and I went off (more than usual).
A friend noticed it and asked if I was OK. That shows he's a good guy.
I admitted I had something on my mind and said I'd try to tone it down a little. Which I will.
I threw in a smartazz remark with a winky emoticon, everyone got that except one guy.

Most of the guys in this thread got it and were cool, even one guy I butt heads with in PARF constantly stood up and showed some compassion. That demonstrates class on his part.

This is the last time I'll discuss this incident.

i am generally a smartass about twenty two hours a day, i am trying to cut back.
