talk me out of this...please...
Not exactly this ERA cobra but one very close to it...428, wide ratio toploader, ERA rear suspension w/ outboard brakes...loved them since I was 16.

No help here. It looks fast and fun.

I've wanted a Cobra since the age of 16, too. Perhaps you should check on a message board your wife frequents for help talking you out of one of those.
|
Yeah...unless it gets covered on facebook (People magazine for average people), I got no worries.
I'm torn b/w this and a really nice 930. I'm very fortunate to have such great options. |
Go for it!
I loved mine. Back in 92 they were a real eye catcher and weren't that many on the road, but now the market has been flooded with them so there are some super deals on them, check out cobracountry.com. This was a Classic Roadster Cobra, and you call tell right off by looking at the doors (their longer then the standard doors). The wheel base is a 96 inch verses the standard 90 inch. The extra inches gave you some leg room. Yes, it wasn't a race car, used a 9 inch ford rearend instead of an independant but in the words of great Fernando Lamez "remember my darlings, it's better to look good then to feel good"! There are some wonderful kits out there, the Superformance just requiring an engine and trans, but if I ever get another one it will be a Kirkham, the aluminum one.

You need that car! It's not really practical, but then your buying it to have fun, not carry the kids to school every day. Now the 930, you could take the kids to school every day! :)

No way in hell I would ever talk you out of buying that beauty.
I wouldnt be able to live with myself!:) |

You're a fool if you waste your money on something like that.
Well, you did ask us to talk you out of it. Doubt I'd buy one though. This is Oregon...and those tops leak. I'd want the coupe version...http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1271131268.jpg |
Having driven a Kirkham with a 427 side oiler with a 4 speed, I plan on owning one of them some day.
I say if you have the means, go for it. I did a bunch of research a while ago, and even had cobra country.com bookmarked for a couple of years. Do some reasearch there, as there is some really good advice. Since I have a 7 year old and a 4 year old, I bought the 964 turbo instead (4 years ago), due to extra practicality. Yeah, thats right, I said 911 turbo and practicality in the same sentence! Bill |
Buy it fool and be done with it!

You'll shoot your eye out kid...
