Opening day!!
Nothing better than the Home Opener!!
Pulled the kids out of school, slipped on some shorts and flip flops and headed down to the ballpark. Beer was cold. Sun was shining. Temperature was in the mid 80's. Pujols hit a 3 run shot, life is good! Go cards!! |
The schedule gods were smiling also. The (L)astros are like the generals to the rest of the league being the globetrotters

Candlestick park, Giants vs Padres I think...I remember to this day the goodness of a ballpark hot-dog, popcorn, real coca-cola (circa 1974), team swag, and my Dad happy....... a perfect spring day in SF! Good on yah mate! edit: I plan on doing the same with my boy |
I hope my son has the same good memories. Opening day at AT&T park last Friday; Giants versus the Braves. Beautiful day on the water in what is probably the most scenic park in baseball. Giants win in the 13th. And as luck would have it my son was on spring break so no need to pull him from school.

17-2 Padres over the Braves...wish the Pads could bank 14 of those runs for a rainy day...

Mariners lost 4-0 to the A's, and had only one hit. But it was still great to be there.

lucky kids. my parents wouldnt pull me out of school for any "fun" reason. they didnt want to send the message that school wasnt the priority.
