This is the first chance I've got to check in and I am just speechless.
Words can not begin to describe my thanks and appreciation to everyone involved and everyone who sent good wishes.
I have talked to my friend and they are just blown away by everyone generosity, love and compassion. So am I.
I would like to get together with everyone who helped and buy you all a beer when I get back.
I will figure out how to post my most sincere gratitude and appreciation to everyone on the Ferrari board when I return to LA and offer to buy them all a drink, in the mean time could someone please post this on Ferrarichat for me.
I truly am speechless!
Those of you that know me know I have a special needs son as well, and I can tell you how this can change their lives. I am sure Alexander will be talking about this for the rest of his life and lets all hope and pray it is a long long time.
Thank you again from the bottom of my heart

Done Steve :)

The person who really took the bull by the horns is Haig, he pretty much set everything up and is continuing to do so. He has been in contact with the Ferrari club in Las Vegas and trying to arrange some event there too when they arrive.

I just have to say well done to all who set this up. i just wish this was an east coast thing and i gladly would have stopped by to help.

Matt - I posted out on Ferrari chat's NW forum, but am not getting much traction. Any chance you think Haig can help out for the family's return trip through Portland?

Seahawk 04-16-2010 02:11 PM

You morons never cease to amaze me:cool:

What a fine and honorable thing you folks did.

CROWSC 04-16-2010 02:33 PM

Brought tears to my eyes, I feel like I am part of something very very special.
Even though I could not help.
What a great bunch of motorheads.

Great job guys.

Noah930 04-16-2010 03:09 PM

The Ferrari guys were awesome. Within 24 hours they organized a group of about a dozen members, with police escort, and a bottomless swag bag for Alexander. Kudos to them and the Auto Gallery. The only negative to their involvement was the poor 246 Dino owner who got rear-ended on the way down from Ventura.

Josh - no problem, I'll send Haig a message and a link to your thread. There's some talk about making the thread a sticky and having it as an ongoing thread for Alexander's return home.

So I'll let him know what you're trying to organize and have Haig drum up support in the Ferrari end.

Silver Testa 04-16-2010 05:57 PM

thanks

Good find Noah. Thank you for the link. I was wondering who was taking pictures but we never saw them again.

Matt - I appreciate the help. I've gotten several responses from the Seattle Ferrari crew, but nothing local to me down here in Portland. I'm proud to be a part of such an outstanding effort and commitment from those in the car community. Cheers.

Very touched by the wonderful spirit of all the great guys who put this together and who participated. Amazing guys...just amazing.

Alexander and Haig signed up on Pelican

Hi all, I have been trying to post, not sure what I was doing wrong. Haig here Silver Testa AKA Testarossa Lover on FCHAT.

I have this good news to share with you all: Alexander in now signed up!

Dear Haig,

I'm e-mailing you from my sister Susie McCormack (Alexander's Mom) e-mail. I went on to the Pelican parts forum and signed Alexander up, he is listed as: Alexander-trip. Not sure what to do from here or how to get to the right posting page to view what we saw in the little booklet you made up for Alexander. We are feeling a bit inept (our daughters are usually the ones who help us sort these things out, poor Alexander has had enough of us for one day... hehehe) We have had yet another exciting and exhausting day. We will have to try and get the pictures on to our lap top tomorrow and then hopefully we will have figured out how to navigate on the Pelican Parts blog. We will try and get in touch with you tomorrow.

thanks, Auntie Bridget

Hi everyone - I'm brand new to this forum. Was directed here by FChat. I'm with the Ferrari club in Las Vegas.

Just wanted to let you all know that the ball is still rolling for Alexander. He and his family went to Phoenix area after LA. The F Club guys there brought about a dozen cars to their hotel. He also got a tour of Scottsdale Ferrari. (Sorry I have no pictures, but I wasn't there.)

They are on their way to Vegas right now. Here, they will have a tour of the Ferrari dealer at the Wynn hotel. Then they are invited to our club's monthly dinner, where a lot of cars will be present.

There are more activities in store for them, first in SoCal again, then north in the Bay Area. I'll try to post about them.

Silver Testa 04-19-2010 10:10 PM

We are set to go from LA. Details on F Chat.

I have been receiving updates of Alexanders travels and thought I'd share them with you

Hello All,
I am sorry it has been a few days since our last update!
It is such an exciting time for Alexander! You would not believe it! Thursday was great, between dancing with Ellen amd thoroughly enjoying her show; And then the Burbank Ferrari Club came with Police escort and all! Alexander has hi sown personal car show at the hotel! they gave him a Ferrari bag FULL of gifts. He was so happy! He had that smile he gets that we all know and love! The smile ha snot left his face at all.
Things are just getting better and better!
On Friday we arrived in Phoenix-Scottsdale and went to the Barrett Jackson Showroom. Alexander then was invited to Craig Jackson's house to see his personal collection of cars! It was awesome! He again received some wonderful gifts! Even a shirt for Dad! He also told Craig that his Dad says HI!. It was really cute!
The Hotel is here is beautiful! Many thanks to Jim!
Saturday we sort of had a rest day; Big Guy was looking a little tired. We did go Walmarting though! In the afternoon the Scottsdale Ferrari Club came to the hotel. What a great group of people! I am not the best of `whats what' when it comes to cars but these are beautiful. Alexander was once again thrilled to see them and meet some new found friends!
Today we off to the Zoo for this morning, then the Scottsdale Ferrari Dealership! Then later we are going to walk around Old Town Scottsdale. It is really nice, definitely a place I am coming back to!
Anyway this is where we are on the road trip! I will try to update tomorrow!
Love to you all!
Susie

Hello Everyone,
On Sunday we had yet another special surprise! Aunties Lisa and Maria showed up to pick up this leg of the trip. Alexander was shocked to see them. Needless to say he is very happy they have joined us on his adventure! We had just gotten back from the Phoenix Zoo when they arrived.
Our plan for the Grand Canyon was a bit of a glitch. We had to try and figure out the safest way to see the Grand Canyon. I never thought of the elevation being a problem; but it definitely is! Alexander was very determined to see the Grand Canyon; so we took a gamble and went in to the South Rim it is 6,000 feet just by Williams. It was still a bit hard for his respiratory but he says it was totally worth it. Of course I was as usual the worried wreck! He had me very concerned but the little trooper man pulled ot off. It is one of the most spectacular sights we have ever seen. It's to bad we couldn't have done the whole thing but as it was it took a lot out of him!
Today we are driving through the Hoover Dam and heading for Las Vegas. Alexander is pretty tired and he knows he has to rest the rest of the day when we arrive there.
The next few days are going to be very busy and of coarse our new found Friends of the Ferrari world have invited Alexander to see some more beautiful cars! He is absolutely loving this and when he is looking at them you can just see him driving each one in his mind! I am so grateful of what all these wonderful people have, and what they are doing for him!
Unfortunately Auntie Bridget has to head back to Vancouver today; It has been great having her share this part of his trip. She has been a great help. We really appreciate her!
Love to all!
Susie

Thanks again.
I am hoping to see Alexander on their return through LA

Steve
