International cellphone options.

OK.

I live in hotels overseas in both cdma and GSM countries.. one thing they have both in common is wifi in the hotel.

any company use calling over a wifi network other then t-moble?

I use skype right now.. but i have to be at the computer to receive calls and text msgs. Also I can not use the same number for both skype and my regular phone.

I think T-mobile wants 80$ a month for the blackberry or I would have moved over there already.

Some of the VOIP apps including Skype are available for wifi-enabled smartphones (iPhone, Droid, etc). Might be another option if you can rely on being in wifi signal reach when you need to make calls.

One thing to remember is that when using bluetooth or WiFi battery life is cut at least in half if not more on these units. Old copilot of mine had a IPhone and he could almost measure it in minutes with the WiFi turned on once the battery got to be "less than new" so to speak.

One of the many reasons why I stick with the BlackBerry is that you can keep an extra battery in your pocket and stay in touch.

Believe that ATT has the same situation that T-Mobile does with WiFi. Might check it out.
