Tetris Sprint: Arrgh! I know I'm not THAT old!!!
 

I started playing Tetris- quite innocently- about three months ago out of boredom. After repeatedly dominating the game through all of the levels, I moved on to something called "Tetris Sprint" which is a timed game in which the player must clear 40 lines as fast as possible.

Now, three months ago I started with a time of about 2:00. I have since worked my way down to 1:08- but there are *#$^% people with times in the mid-30's. I'm getting faster, but I can't see myself getting that quick. Ever.

I'm looking for others over 30 who care to try this game- with any luck, someone else will be able to break 1:00; I need something to give me some faith that it is possible for de old folk to keep quick fingers and minds.

played for 20 min and all i could get down to is 2:28

It's really strange: when I take a day off from this *$% game, my time goes back up to ~1:25 upon returning. If I take three days off (was at Auburn spring game this weekend) my time generally drops (haven't beat my 1:08 but I'm breathing down its neck).

I think I need to see a sports shrink- after I submit this game for consideration in the "What's a Sport" thread.

By my count, it's taken me over 5,ooo games to reach my current mark. I'm sure you have a lot of better things to do . . .

You do realize that you are competing against people whose whole life revolves around being at the top of the scoreboard for this game, right? I know some of these typse personally, and be glad that you have a Porsche and can talk to women.
