Securing Internet Domain(s)
So I've spent some time poking around the various providers and wanted to see if anyone on here has any sage advice for me.
I'm looking to secure a domain name in anticipation of potentially launching a new business concept. Haven't given any thought to hosting or the such and don't really want to think about it at this point. I just want to make sure that if I decide to pursue the concept that the domain name(s) I want are secured and don't suddenly get registered while I'm conducting my diligence. Thanks! |
GoDaddy has them for about $10/yr. That includes free hosting and email. If you need SSL you need to purchase a deluxe hosting plan from them. You can buy the domain and just park it until you need it.

There are some smaller registrars that have been accused of having failed registrations on behalf of their members and then suddenly having that domain get snatched up.
I use godaddy strictly for registration. Hosting is always somewhere else. |
If I use godaddy does it limit me to using them to host once I move forward or can I take that domain name anywhere?

Bluehost.

You can set up hosting anywhere that offers it. You don't need to host with GoDaddy. GoDaddy hosts my sight, and I have not had any issues.

I use goDaddy
