Shake, Rattle and Roll

Will CA have a shaker in the next 10 days...from April 20th to April 30th...Tabs saids in mid March that CA would be safe until April 15TH but not a day later...with an emphasis of having a nice ROLLER (in the neighborhood of 5 or better) after the 20TH????

Well What do ya think?

RPKESQ 04-19-2010 01:26 PM

I think that since CA has an measurable earthquake total per year of between 15,000 and 20,000 per year, that this is not much of a prediction.

vash 04-19-2010 01:55 PM

tabs, is california "sour grapes" for you?

sammyg2 04-19-2010 03:17 PM

We have thousands of earthquakes every week. A 5 isn't even enough to discuss in most cases. Big friggin deal. I've slept through 5's before.

Now a 7, that gets serious.

Unless it's from my friends and I rocking out to the new Ratt album on the 20th I'm not really worried about it. Posts above me hit the nail on the head.

Hell no! We know that eventually AZ and Vegas will be beachfront property so all we have to do is sit back and wait...

I'm Fully aware of that. Neighborhoods of 5 are alittle more uncommon.

I am liking April 22, 23, 24....at around 7:15 AM or 7:15 PM?????
As I said Geologic and TABS time don't mesh very well...to be really specific and as to an exact location...So I have to expand time and location a bit.

For me this is testing a theory on the use of imagination.

SHyte man I didn't even get outa bed for the Big Bear or Landers quakes...I just thought I hope this is the BIG UN...an those were high 7's...

BeyGon 04-19-2010 05:44 PM

Who cares, that last one didn't even disturb a picture in my house. The lights were off until two am, that didn't bother me too much since I was asleep.
After the one in the seventies I sold a bunch of breakable stuff, chipped glass isn't worthe much.

I'll place money on that not happening. So the terms are it must happen between April 22 to 24 at 7:15 am +/- 30 minutes or on the same dates at 7:15 pm +/- 30 minutes.

How much do you want to wager?

In LV time is at a premium...with that expansion soil and splitting home foundations...waiting is not an option!

Tabs, it is all the trampy, scantily clad gals causing it, so the weather has to get warmer.

In the Poll above I bet against myself:D....do you really think I am so stupid as to bet on this...really now..

As I said in March when I came up with this cockamamie idea I said I wouldn't bet on it...

I am testing a theory on the use of imagination, and just want to be on the record if it works..if it doesn't then guess who is going to be the first to call who a big fraud...and it ain't gona be U...and that is 100% for sure...

I am saying I like April 22, 23, 24....but I could be off so I left it at 10 days...and as far as the time...???? that is hardly even worth discussing...It is a further refinement of the original premise.

I am using a different methodology than before, which has some success...Japan, CA, and China..

Beofre I was thinking of the Ring Of Fire and where a previous big quake had hit, and then I started to think of where had it been quiet for awhile and where the stress could be building from the stresses created by the last quake. I think of it as if you pull on one end of a rug it creats stress on the other end or in anotther place. Can one predict the time and exact place...not really. As I have said Geologic Time and TABS time do not mesh very well. So an aproxiamation of local for the next one is about as much as one can figure with out really delving into the data.

Are these predictions worth anything...I am not wasting a whole bunch of thought on it..it is merely entertaining..

tabs 04-20-2010 01:28 PM

The last newsworthy quake was a 6.5 in China...so the next hit is going to be this side of the Pacific...Alaska has been quiet for a long time..

One has to view an earthquake as being like a ripple in a pond...as stress is relieved in once place it builds stress in another...which then has to be released or readjusted..

tabs 04-22-2010 02:09 PM

Well no shaking so far?

RPKESQ 04-22-2010 02:11 PM

Just us from laughter.

sammyg2 04-22-2010 02:50 PM
