Do you have a scissor lift, what make
Been thinking about a lift so I can work on the 930 a bit easier and a 2 post is probably the way to go except I have a drive through garage and putting up a 2 post would cut me short on parking on 1 side for sure and make it tight on the other for parking and still maintain the drive through, garage is 30 ft. wide.
Really considering a scissor lift so I can park right on top of it , does any one have one? how is it for transmission access? do you regret getting it over a 2 post lift? Any feed back would be helpful |
I use mine alot and usually park a car over it. I do have to use doubled up planks along side of it due to most of my cars being low slung. I have changed both 944 Turbo and BMW 325i clutches very easily with mine. Every car I own plus a couple 4x4 pickup trucks have been up on with no issues. I typically work while sitting on a small office chair. I have removed entire exhaust systems easily and basically feel that there is no area on any of my cars that I cannot easily work on while on the Bend Pak scissor lift.

Thanks Tim, its the Bend Pak that I was looking at as well. I see you on the GJ site and I still haven't figured out how to make posts. Saw a guy who made some ramps for a scissor lift on that site and thats what I'm planning as well, was that you?

There's a mohawk scissor lift that goes up to 6ft, but I haven't priced it... looked nice to be able to get the car up that high.

Tim , I'm calling a post as a new topic, and GJ is Garage Journal. I thought you were a moderator there.

I can tell you that the BendPak has a fairly open structure in it which allows pretty much unfettered access to most any part of the car whether it is fwd or rwd |
