Physical therapy or yoga, ibuprofen (200mg x 3 times a day), and a few bowls of marijuana.

Shoulder injuries, they suck...never seem to go away. Strained my left shoulder in Oct '04 doing an incline press, hasn't been the same since. MRI showed an inflamed supra spinatus tendon. 6 years of NSAIDS, PT, cortisone injections...still hurts to level 5-6 when I hit it right.
After age 40, the warranty expires...wish I'd bought the extended warranty now  |
I have had shoulder problems for a while. Have no idea what the medical terms would be; It's all calcified from to many falls skiing and windsurfing. The symptoms escalated three years ago when I got crushed by a heavy elevator door at work and couldn't take time off for a couple of months until the end of season. It hurt so much that the pain got numb if that makes sense.
After several months of agony I finally went to physical therapy. That helped a lot. I do my shoulder exercise/rotation every morning with warm/hot water running on it while i take my wake up shower. The hot showers really help. Went windsurfing for the first time since it happened just last week. The shower trick gets it loose in the morning and it hasn't been bothering me so much lately. I take advil just before I go to sleep, it helps kill the pain enough to fall asleep. Take care of it now because it will only get worse if you don,t. Sucks getting old(er). |
