I'm sorry for my late reply, i found a new job and i had to move. You were interested in my 78 Porsche. Where have you seen it? It was posted on more websites.. The car is in very good condition and it looks great. The title is clear and the car was fully restored. My asking price is $14800 - the buyer gets insured DAS shipping and a 30 days free of charge return policy and inspection period. For safety reasons i only deal through ebay, i still have the car listed there. let me know if it's okay.

Shannon,

I could not find your car on e-bay. $14,800 seems like a reasonable price for such a vehicle. I'm definitely a cash buyer!! I'm not dissuaded from purchasing the car without e-bay's added safety. I believe in the value of a man's word. I also believe that the only things one actually needs to provide security for a transaction are cash, gunpowder, and lead...if you know what I mean ; ). Where can we meet to to complete the transaction? My close friend, the Reverend Shackelford, and I run an armored car service part time. If we are not detained by any unforseen "situations" we could pick the car up with our armored truck after we complet our route. Last year the Reverend had to get a prostetic hand after a situation with some "urban wildlife". You wouldn't believe what some folks would do to get their hands on money that isn't theirs. Don't worry about the rev's part time career, his custom hand does not hinder his ability to to rack and fire his trusty Remington 870. My we've been through some tough spots together!!

I look forward to hearing from you soon! I am very much eager to conduct a business transaction and do the lord's work!

God Bless America
Ryan

Hi Ryan,

I lost my old job and I had to move to Kansas because i found something else here, i made arrangements with DAS Auto Shippers for the transaction i had with a buyer but his loan was not approved and the money that I paid to DAS are not refundable. I also have a contract with them and I can only use their shipping services. The car is at the shipping company in Wichita KS ready to be shipped. Since I'm away with business right now a local inspection cannot be performed. However, I do offer a 30 days inspection period prior to buying the car if we close the deal through ebay. Let me explain how the whole process works:

1. you send the amount due to ebay's Vehicle Purchase Protection (VPP) service
2. ebay will confirm me that you have made the payment and that everything is ok.
3. i will ship the car so you can inspect, test and make a decision if you will keep it or not. You have 30 days from arrival date to do that.
4. if you will not get exactly the same car that you have viewed in the ad, and as described by me and also a clear title you will receive all your money back from ebay motors. Their VPP protection is for amounts up to $50,000.
5. if everything is ok you will have to send ebay your approval to release the funds to me.
If you agree with this process please send your full name and shipping address so i can make the shipping arrangements and start the procedure through ebay.
I'm waiting for your email asap because I have other potential buyers and I don't know what to say to them.

Me again:

Shannon,

Very good sir. These ebay protections do seem quite simple and useful. I will have the Reverend contact you regarding our personal and business credentials. When it comes to the financials of our partnership he and the Lord call the shots. As far as other interested parties, first and foremost tell them your beautiful 930 has been SOLD!

The reverend will advise the appropriate address for delivery of the vehicle, and where to send the title. I believe we may send it to our main business in Mooney, Ia. Our not for profit organization is based there, where we have adequate facilites to help children suffering from lukemia. We also store our Porsche racing equipment, and small arms there.

Please forwad your full name, address and social security number as well as a PDF copy of a consent for a background information check. We can do these in house through our armored car business. The reverend is very trusting, but this would make me feel better making a sight unseen purchase of this magnitude. Especially when this vehicle will be used to give rides to sick children at local track days. I would be overwhelmed with guilt if I took nearly $15,000 out of funds and did not use them to make at least one child smile. In the end that's what this is all about for our organization.

To make up for the inconvienience of our additional requirements, please allow me to send you a non refundable deposit so you may feel more secure in telling others that the car has sold. I would gladly send you $200 by western union or some other instutution, to hold the car.

I have some friends at DAS Auto Shippers, I helped them recover a stolen classic auto transport back in '05. After shooting our way out of Mexican drug war zones, I doubt the Reverend and I will ever feel safe there again. I will talk to my friend Steve at DAS and have him send me his thoughts on my new 930!

Thanks again,
Ryan

Feel free to contact Shannon and tell him you saw his 930 advertised online. Its a guards red 78 or 79 depending on his mood. Boxed rockers RSR inspired front spoiler, modern tail, race seats, bolt in cage, aftermarket intercooler, etc etc. RUF imitation wheels

I actually DID find it on e-bay when I looked..... at a dealer in California, asking ~32k

Ha!

Usually, when I find out the car is in "Wichita", I miraculously come up with a brother who happens to live in "Wichita", and he can pick it up and pay cash! Oh yeah, and he's a sherriffs deputy.

It usually ends the fun, though.

i get the same 'deals' with the local ads here for ducati's. selling ducati 1098's for $2900, husband is dead in iraq, bike will be shipped, ebay protection, blah blah blah. i baited them for grins and reported the ad. what is really fun is that they continuously post the same bike, over and over, and it gets removed over and over within an hour or two.

Stupid question, but is the eBay protection a fraud, or are they simply trying to get your deposit money?

The scammer sends you a fake website that appears to be a legitimate E-Bay site. You fill in the blanks and they have your info, or they just use the website to make it appear your funds have been deposited.

A friend of mine was trying to explain this to me... I believe it's part of the scam as well. I think they end up screwing you and getting your personal information through the "ebay web pages". These scams are getting pretty elaborate, it seems there are very authentic looking false web pages devoted to it.

Your UBB code prevents Shannon's e-mail from showing in the thread. Yours shows fine, though...

As a side note, after my last e-mail Shannon reported that he sold the car out from under me. Part of me wants to just let it go.... Another part of me wants to argue that we had a "verbal contract" that he defaulted on. Im sure that doesn't hold any water, but I wonder if he does. I'll probably just drop it. Turns out my time is actually worth something
