Question About Monte Montgomery/Guitar
 

I was watching some YouTube of Monte Montgomery. He plays what looks to me like an ordinary acoustic guitar fitted with a pickup. I don't know much about guitars, though. But, sometimes it sounds like an acoustic guitar, and other times it sounds different - more electric - longer sustain than I thought an acoustic could do.

How is that happening?

He probably just has some effects pedals. I had a Dean Markley pickup that was for acoustics. It just plugged right into my amp. I could switch channels and make it distorted or keep it clean. I've seen some folks playing electrics, whose effects pedals made them sound like amazing acoustic guitars.
