The single lady's Porsche dilemma

The single lady's Porsche dilemma - The Globe and Mail

My boyfriend and I have discussed marriage. We've browsed for rings in the past, but so far there's been no proposal. Meanwhile he says he wants to give me a Porsche. I think he's stalling. Do I accept the car without a ring?

- Going Nowhere Fast

No, hold out for a Ferrari.

Why would a girl want to be married to a guy that is "stalling?"

He's stalling because he doesn't want to be married.

So who's going to email the editor and tell her that Porsche never stuffed a diesel in a Cayenne and doesn't intend to?

In this day and age I don't think I'd marry. Relationships are not built on a piece of paper and a ring or 2. OTOH, I could have a convenience marriage for any benefits obtained (say like I marry a non citizen so she can stay and work and she gets me fantastic health coverage) and a separate love relationship.

I know, the marriage in this case is illegal, but one has to get caught. Lotsa people married and not in love and having affairs.

I'd sure take the car, though, however it suits me.

I guess if you're planning a family, it might be different. But, then again, are Pitt and Jolie married? Not that I know of and they are apparently very devoted parents.
