A bicyclist hit my car today.

I was not in the car, my lady was. She said he was in the next lane, a little bit in front of her, and without signaling, he tried to switch lanes, and hit the right front fender of her car. Moving in traffic about 20 -25 mph. She stopped, and she said that he was a total dick to her, and was accusing her of veering out of her lane.
She is a good driver,( used to turn similar lap times as me ) and has a clear head, I am sure it was not her fault. They exchanged information, and she said that she spotted his welfare card in his wallet while he was pulling out his I.D.
He was basically unhurt, and refused her offer to take him to the hospital. He did ride away.
Now I guess I just have to wait and see if the ambulance chasers come a calling.
She has been driving her M3 almost every day for weeks, but for some odd reason, she took the old beater Volvo wagon today. There were already some dents in the same area, and I can see no new damage.
It is funny, the right front fender had a decent sized dent in it when I bought it. I decided not to fix it at that time. It was hit by another car in the same exact spot a couple of years ago. I told the other driver not to worry about it, and sent him on his way, now today it gets hit in the exact same spot again.

There are many cyclists who don't understand the word 'share'; I've known a few who used to look for conflicts by intentionally using up every bit of the road they could and others who were simply just bi**hy little girls.

Not sure how the courts would lean in a case like this should he come up lame.

edit: before any cyclists start jumping on these statements, know that until two years ago I was putting over 120 miles on my Klein weekly.

Never a good idea IMHO. I would have called the police. If he rode away before they arrived, so much the better for her.

She did ask if he wanted her to call the police or an ambulance, and he declined both . He said he was o.k. She did mention that she regrets not calling the police, and getting a police report. We reported it to our insurance carrier tonight just in case.
