Vote for a cool project
As a cool school project, I'm touring this summer with the Big Green Bus. Basically we have a coach bus converted to run on waste veggie oil with solar panels on the roof, and a whole bunch of other cool eco-projects on board. Every summer the bus tours the country, and teaches people a little bit about how to control their impact on the environment. Right now, we could use a little help; we're in a competition to win some money for the project, and could use a few votes. Go to
Boloco and give the bus a vote if you feel like helping out. -and if anyone has any suggestions as to why our 04 jetta tdi chase car runs on 4 cylinders when cold, and drops down to 3 when it warms up, let me know! ![]()

Just a guess, but you may have a clogged injector. The symptoms may be masked when the engine is cold by the cold idle circuit. Then when it warms up, it is going back to the normal idle setting which shows up the problem. Good luck Les

Thanks for the thought Les; I've already swapped the injector on the cylinder in question, to no avail. I'm planning a compression test, cold, then hot to see if there's anything going on there. My suspicion is that it is somehow fuel related though
