Sneed Insurance quitting classic ins?
Has anyone else received the letter from Sneed announcing that they are handing over classic insurance to a new carrier?

Are they looking to quit the classic car market? Or are they looking to change the underlying company they have their book of business with?
As brokers or agents - they are not the actual underwriters of these policies. If they re-issue renewals with a new company - then you need to double check and see that all limits, deductibles and conditions are the same. Odds are, just the underlying "paper" is changing. |

Their letter said:
"It is therefore, with mixed emotions, that we announce we will be entrusting our clients to the care of xxx family of Companies." It sounded like they are giving up the classic car insurance...

I have Sneed for my collector cars, their rates were really good, esp. if you have more than one collector ($60 per YEAR for my Carrera, full coverage, agreed value!).
I got that letter, too. It sounds like they sold the company. From what I can tell from their letter, it sounds like the Sneed policy will be cancelled, and the new company will issue you an "offer of insurance" which you can either accept or not. It's not just a change by Sneed of the underlying insurer. Sneed will be/is gone. If anyone else has information on this, let us know. |

Haggerty just quoted me $561.00 a year for my 87. Full coverage, 100/300/100, $1000 deductibles, $25,000 agreed value.
That's quite a price difference.

My Sneed policy is through Safeco. Sneed is just a broker, not a carrier.
Apparently, they are not taking new business...website is "under construction": http://sneedinsurance.com/ Last edited by HunterVonWurst; 04-26-2010 at 06:24 PM.. |
