Drunks vying for the Darwin Awards in Key West~
I spent the weekend in Key West. Yes I killed a few brain cells. Yes I worked on a future case of skin cancer. Yes I'm proud! But I'm not an idiot.
1. I didn't have to drive. 2. I wore sun screen, so I didn't burn. 3. I'm proud, but not proud of these clowns! I was there when this was videoed, and at times I had to look away. I wanted to walk away, but I couldn't. I KNEW it would come to a bad ending. That concrete wall behind the monument? it is literally 3 feet from the bouy itself! I felt for sure these clowns would hit their heads or their bodies when they eventually fell, and it would be a massive rescue scene. It isn't hard to imagine that they would be killed- if they had fallen and hit their heads, or fallen on each other, they could easily be killed or paralyzed! I posted this this morning [mistakenly] on the 928 board. Here's the videos: YouTube - Key west db ass part 1 YouTube - Key west dumb ass N! |
Looks like a bunch of seals trying to get on the same rock.
Man, if dying or paralysis were the only 2 outcomes of a stupid stunt, I'd be dead many times over and paralyzed at the gates. (Gates to heaven or hell, doesn't matter.) |
Cant tell you how many times Ive taken a pic at that bouy. Never once did it ever cross my mind to climb on it. That thing is tall, and like you said a nice wall and pile of rocks right behind it. Plus the 200 layers of paint on it make it slippery as hell.
Dumbazzes!! |
Perhaps they thought it was a rocket ship to take them back to Cuba...

I never thought to climb that monument either time I have stood by it.

Amazingly, when they fell, they fell coordinated and none of them hit the berm behind them at an awkward angle. Again, the guy in the plaid shorts: When I walked away a few minutes after the video stopped, he was still sitting on the sea wall saying his feet hurt. The other guys were walking around normally..... Alcohol is a really strange substance~ N! |
