Jarkov Mammoth
Remember 10 years ago?
The Discovery Channel did a huge special on the recovery of the Jarkov Mammoth in Siberia. The show was actually pretty boring and ended with the mammoth, in a huge block of ice, being airlifted to a cave for storage.' They did a follow-up special a year later, that was heavy on facts about mammoths, but ended with the mammoth encased in almost as much ice as at the end of the first special. And that's the last I've heard of it. I did a quick search, and all information on the mammoth seems to have stopped after 2001.

You're right. Reports of the find pretty much dropped off the face of the planet after 2001.

Probably made into goolash (sp?) and fed to prisoners in the gulags by now.
And Putin is probably wearing Mamoth fur underwear to accent his manliness... |

There was an article in National Geographic about a baby mammoth. I'm not sure if it's the same mammoth or not.

It's not. The baby mammoth was discovered in 2007 or 2008.
