Pixie dust regrows soldiers limbs!

Not yet but it's starting to look feasable.

'Pixie Dust' made from pig bladders regrows limbs of wounded soldiers | Mail Online

Isn't this great!

I wonder how many muslim true believers will refuse the treatment?

limp or limb?

I wonder how many people will let religion decide whether their children will get treated with this, giving or denying them a fair chance of recovery from whatever injury they have?
And should they be allowed to make this decision?

(Isabo, this thread will go to PARF soon, I reckon, so if you want me to remove the religious part of my post, let me know)

No worries, I started it. Lets just see how it works out or if it disappears into the ether like the recent menstrual sex thread.

Man Uses Pig’s ‘Pixie Dust’ to Fix Finger
by Jessica Doyle
With the help of an experimental powder, a man’s severed finger has regrown to its original length in just four weeks, reports London’s Daily Mail.
Lee Spievack, of Cincinnati, who sliced almost half an inch off the top of one of his fingers, described the powder as “pixie dust,” according to the newspaper.
The “pixie dust” is actually extra-cellular matrix, bursting with collagen and is made from a dried pig’s bladder, the newspaper reports.

I say go for it... Being disfigured must be a horrible way to live.

Just think this could lead to natural enhancement of breasts... No more silicon or saline implants.

hmm lets see you cut off certian bits, sprinkle some on and it grows back. Will it grow more than what was there originally?

There might be some other applications that come to mind that will sell this stuff to a much larger market than amputees.

I am only aware of two groups who would object to this type of procedure on religious grounds, muslims and jehovah's witnesses.

There are many, many religions out there. I find it curious that instead of naming the two, you chose instead to lump them all together.
That makes me question your motive in posting that.

There was a show on the Discovery channel about this last year. They interviewed the guy who regrew his finger and showed them growing ears in a lab.

They take some of your blood, extract the cells add the powder and put it in a form and a ear grows.

They were originally looking to grow skin for grafts for burn victim's.

SO here's the first legal controversy coming...

Baby born with one disfigured arm. Parents/Doctors want to amputate it, grow a "better one"....

No need to question my motives, Sammy, I was not aware that there were only two religious groups who would object to this. (seems few to me, I would guess there would be more, but I'm no expert)
If I knew which ones would object, I would have named them.
So thanks for informing me about this, seriously.

On the other hand, my question was how many people would object on using this cure based on religious grounds. I never asked about religions specificly.
I don't care how many of those people are Jewish or Muslim.
Not being a follower of any religion at all, I find it extremely difficult to comprehend that there will be people refusing their children and loved ones this cure based on religious grounds.
I hope I made myself clearer, if not let me know.

There have been court cases fought against (IIRC) about JW's who refused blood transfuisons for there children. EVN if it meant certain death.

It does happen, more than we probably are aware of.

No Jewish/muslim person would ever knowingly take/eat/use anything which has pig parts as a source. again, if that means death.

Religion is a mighty powerfull thing, people will commit all manner of atrocities in its name (as well as martyr themselves)

Jehovah's Witnesses refuse blood, not pork.
