Best place to sell a Restored XK120?
We have this gorgeous 1954 Jag XK120 that needs a new home but no good places to advertise it. Any ideas?

How did Hugh sell his DB4?
Heh heh. A Craigs List ad would be funny. |

I put in an email to an XKE owner to see what he recommends. In the meantime, Hemmings? Vintage race mags?

The 'bay is still some of the cheapest world-wide advertising you can get.

I got top dollar for a 70' E-type a few years ago on DuPont Registry.com Had a lot of interest and I sold it right away. Best $240 I ever spent!

Great question. I think Hemmings is probably a good place to put an ad. I am thinking about my FIL who has a significant car collection (that includes an XK120). He is not super tech oriented and Dupont's is too ostentatious. I HAVE seen a Hemmings at his place when he was buying.
I wouldn't discount Craigslist however. It is free and pervasive. If there was some tool that allowed you to place ads in all major cities with one posting, that might be really good. I do want to know what the market for an XK120 is. FIL has a roadster or drop head coupe. Not certain of the difference. One is supposed to be worth more. Do you have a generic price range for a 1- car? Thanks, Larry |
