Getting ready to move to a 4 door sedan
As much as I enjoy my Audi TT the kids are getting older and we are in need of a 4 door saloon to relieve the family duties from the LR Discovery. The TT (a lower mile 2001) needs a few items addressed before going on the market and I won't be buying anything till it's gone. The new car will be a cash purchase and I want to keep it in the $10K range so as to not siphon funds out of my 911 fund.
I was thinking of a 2003(ish) A4/6 or a BMW 5 series. I don't really care much for the newer BMW style and prefer an older copy. So today on CL I find this 1991 M5 ![]() The immediate draw backs are 1. It's red and 2. I'm a couple months away from deal time. What can you folks tell me about this year M5? Is there a "preferred" year for these beasts? Thanks, David |

Wow, does that paint need a battery to keep it electrified?

I don't like the newer BMW's either, they're quite ugly.
I have sure not heard much good about A4/6 Audis when it comes time to fix them. Be prepared to hemorrhage money, from what i've heard. |

Oh, i agree with you 100%. The only reason i can afford to own my 928 is because i fix it myself.
Otherwise, forget it, i'd have some kind of a GM hotrod still. |
