87 y/o killed at Texas Motor Spdway

Bad luck for the former pilot. He sounded like quite an adventurer. Strange if he was really not wearing a seatbelt. I think is was a 2 seater stock car, but not completely sure.

I'd bet he was wearing a belt. I've seen stuff about that experience before... They reach speeds in excess of 150.... A crash at that speed could easily kill a frail older person even belted in...

Think it was a Vette. Least looked that way on the news last night.

I hope this does not come across as offensive, but frankly, helluva way for an 87 year old person to go.

If my number is up when I'm 87, I'd rather go that way then most any other. Rest in Peace...

I wouldn't want it to take a few days though.... I maintain that I want to die quickly in a car crash at the track when I am in my 80s.... It'd be really cool if the car burst into flames too... but I don't wanna burn to death...

The headline should read "87-year-old dies as a result of injuries....." Typical newspaper writing in the internet age. How can you go to school for this stuff and not understand the basics?

I had the same thoughts.
