Is this 81 carrera 2 a good deal?

It looks more like a C4.
Immaculate Turbo Look 1981 Porsche Carrera 2

I'd say no since they did not make a carrera 2 in 1981.

THey're not turbo wheels, the window tint is worthless, the stereo is worth about 25 cents on the dollar. Its a 911 SC with some sort of body kit on it, cant tell how well the kit was done, whether its fglass or steel and what the rest of the car and mechanicals are like. Just eyeballing the car I would not pay much more than 10 grand for it. I would not pay 25 grand for that car period

mmaculate Turbo Look 1981 Porsche Carrera 2. Must see in person!! Drives like a bat out of hell!! Ground effects, Turbo Wheels, Custom Silver Window Tint, Alpine top of the line stereo, Bose surround sound, custom box and sub woofers,1000 watt amp+500 watt surround amp. Viper alarm and power locking system with power windows. 82,000 on the odometer. Working duel exhaust system. Working power sunroof. After researching, I have found that this is the only Porche of this style being advertised in the U.S. at this time. Asking $25,000 OBO, excellent collector’s car. Call Alfonso @ 619-403-4115 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting**************619-403-4115******end_of_the_skype_highlighting begin_of_the_skype_highlighting**************619-403-4115******end_of_the_skype_highlighting

Alfonso says it was an original 81 turbo with a 3.6 but the previous owner put a 1993 decklid and a 3.0 in it. I asked him if was originally an SC and he said it was a carrera turbo. What a F@$#% Joke. ( edit) I added the bolded text.

Maybe he meant '91. Sure, he's stupid, but that car is way too much 964 than SC. If it really had a 3.0 in it, he sure was faithful to the exhaust. Maybe you should go look at it or have him photo the VIN and email it.

Better yet, get a pic of the motor. Ya never know.

Rest assured Milt, it's a POS. The chrome and/or faded window trim is a dead giveaway, as is the horrid exhaust-to-bumper fit. The ad text/prose isn't doing him any favors either. Also, there were no C2 widebody coupes (as the decklid badge states). The only 964 that came in that configuration was the 1994 C4 (just like the one you posted).

But hey it has "Working duel exhaust system. Working power sunroof.". He says absolutely nothing about the mechanical side of the car. Any time one third of the ad is about the window tint and the sound system, don't walk RUN!
