I think it's fantastic that Ducati is still putting out great "junior" models of their flagship. Probably just a wise biz decision but it makes me feel like they're still looking out for the rest of us. ;) :D

You're absolutely correct, of course, but the 1098 is somehow more of a hand-full than the others. An R1 might be actually faster but the 1098 is in the same league with Ducati twin bottom-end torque. I'm telling you, it's a dangerous machine on the street. A huge percentage go up for sale as soon as the owner rides it and soils himself.

Don't know if I agree with that. You could park an F-86 next to an F-22. They both look beautiful.

Congrats on the new bike, holt. The sound's pretty intoxicating when it's uncorked, isn't it?

Yup. Texas World Speedway next saturday should find us a new top speed record (personal). Also going by the suspension guy since the PO is of a..smaller stature and cranked the preload all the way down in the back. Still turned remarkably well, though, as is.

I forgot to mention that the seller is in biz dev for deep ocean exploration in the Gulf. He was, sadly, quite motivated. I felt like a pawn shop owner--7500.00 and 3 years left on the extd warranty and 4 boxes of oem and other stuff. Not to mention the $2k termis.

I'll stick with the old girl for now thanks. I thought it was just going to be another fling, but I'll admit, I have feelings for her......
