City suspends chicken limit
Robin Scott relaxed when she heard that Eugene officials suspended the city’s two-chicken limit.
Scott and her husband keep six chickens at their Friendly Neighborhood home. For years, the city ordinance governing farm animals made it illegal for residents to have more than two hens per household. Last week, city officials suspended the two-chicken rule until a review of the ordinance takes place. That means the Scotts and other residents can keep their flocks for now without running afoul of city regulations. “I feel very relieved,” Scott said. - I have some 'inside dope' on this stunning change to our City ordinances. It turns out that the limit of two chickens here is LOWER than Springfield (which allows 4 chickens). Now, if you are familiar with The Simpson's and the feuding two cities situated next to each other, you understand the politics. If you thought the news from Lake Woebegon was exciting, well... |

Big stink in our town when chickens were outlawed alltogether!
Of course approx. 400yds from my back door are three of the largest chicken houses i've seen. And said town is approx. 25 miles east of Perdue HQ. Dog food factory is still running though.
