Yikes! Dallas crash: Amazing this did not lead to serious injuries or death!

Driver of the silver station wagon should try autocrossing with those reflexes.

Who's the maroon who took out the semi? How do you not see something like that before a lane change?

I'd like to think that it was the result of a mechanical failure. None of the stories I read addessed the cause, but one suggested the truck driver "overcorrected." The comment section was filled with folks defending the truck driver.

It's easy to NOT see something that big. For example if your trying to focus on the little numbers on your cell phone, things like big rigs in the other lane tend to disappear. Or fixing your eyeliner while your driving makes it real hard to see things that aren't the same color as your eye shadow. Or the ever dreaded task of cleaning your purse reduces the likelihood of seeing something that may potentially squash you like a bug if you change lanes in front of it.
I do think someone needs to search out everyone on the other side of the freeway and give them a discount on their insurance and maybe a subway sandwich. No deaths or injuries in the opposing lanes!

The only failure I see is between the ears of the silver car's driver.

The only way I see the truck not crashing is to offensively turn into the silver car, but that over rides your natural instinct to not kill someone.

I know you guys will hate to hear this...but...that silver station wagon is a pepper wagon. Watch it a couple of times, and pause it.

Talk about anti-roll! A jeep would of gone for a barrel roll!

If you watch very carefully in the very beginning of the clip, the silver car made contact with the truck as they rounded the bend just entering the picture. The sliver car steers away from the truck but appears to over correct and impacts the truck a second time and much harder. I don't see any steering input from the truck to even suggest he "over corrected". It looks more like he got punted into the other lane.

Wow! I think you're right. Posche should include that footage in a commercial. Based on the fact the the driver doesn't stop I assume the Cayenne escaped unscathed. Probably only needed a new seat cover.

Jalopnik mentions that in their article, so some car guys caught that earlier.

My Chevy truck couldn't have done that and it's not stock.

Yeow!

4 or 5 lucky drivers got through; A lot of others had a long, long afternoon ahead.

(Pepper wagon. Heh Heh, that's the first time I ever heard that)

Sorry, if it wasn't clear from my original post, I don't think the semi driver did anything wrong. It was the silver car at his passenger front quarter to whom I was referring.

You were clear. Some news outlet is getting a lot of hate mail though.

Actually, the silver wagon smacked the wall when it swerved, thats probably what kept it from rolling.

I don't know. When you look at the view where the Cayenne is heading toward the camera it appears to recover before the breakdown/emergency lane.

The small black SUV (CRV maybe) ahead of the Cayenne also did a great job getting out of the way, but still got clipped.
