15 most collectable Modern Muscle cars

I think it's always risky to predict what will be collectable, and what won't. Nevertheless, reading lists is always fun...so you can disagree with them.

Same three cars that you can still buy new at the dealers. Who put out the list? is this part of the stimulus package, to get you to buy a new car???

They will be collectible 40 years after hell freezes over.

Corvettes and Vipers are not "collectible", but a Dodge Magnum is?

Corvettes & Vipers are "sports cars"...two seats. Not "muscle", seats 4.

Have fun slamming...

Of course...only 911SC's and 944's are true classics...

Funny as it may seem, I agree...this site is more set up as a way to sell cars than to predict what will become collectable or not.

Some of the cars in the OP's link will be extremely collectible in the years to come.

I'm sorry, but the Camaro, Mustang, and Magnum just get uglier every time I see them. Same for the Charger.

The Challenger is the only good-looking car in the bunch, mostly because it's not overdone.

Muscle car - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Muscle car is a term used to refer to a variety of high performance automobiles.[1][2] At its most widely accepted the term refers to American 2-door rear wheel drive mid-size cars of the late 1960s and early 1970s equipped with large, powerful V8s, and sold at an affordable price for street use and drag racing, formally and informally.[3][4][5][6]

I keep wondering if I would ever want to own a 40 year old modern car. Can you imagine the electronic issues you would have???

Good point, one that applies to ANY car made today.

Let's see...in 40 years? Odds are I'll have been dead for 20 of them...

Having my fun now, while I can. The '72S quit being fun. The Mustang is a gas...very well balanced, yet has all the creature comforts...yet not so collectable that I'm paranoid of dings while driving it. After all, it's only a Ford.

You left this out of the Wikipedia definition:

"As such, they are distinct from two-seat sports cars and expensive 2+2 GTs intended for high-speed touring and road racing."

An unintentional omission, I'm sure

yeh, to me a Muscle Car has a big motor, and maybe a stiffer suspension. But the real issue is that it does not have a very sophisticated suspension or good brakes.

i.e. rocket sled

Obviously, things have change a bit nowadays.

I don't like the challengers, they're GIGANTIC cars in person.

I really like the new Camaro though.

When I was shopping for a car, I couldn't afford a muscle car. So I bought a 911. Go figure.

I'm glad i didn't buy something like an Evo or a mustang... have you read some of the posts on those forums?

Example:
Anyone know what kind of intercooler? - DSM Forums

Yep. I'm 6'2", 220 lbs. I feel like a submarine pilot in the Camaro. I drove my coworker's the other day and noticed that in the event of an accident resulting in non-functioning doors, I would be UNABLE to get out of the car. Windows aren't tall enough! And as far as big goes....I'm not very.

The Challenger is big but it's not supposed to be a small sportscar. Ever see a real in-the-flesh GTO (not the Holden Monaro POS)?

A challenger is not supposed to be a muscle car, it's supposed to be a pony car. That's not the same thing. Same for the mustang and the Z28.

They're pony cars.

Look at one of these new challengers side by side with a classic 1970, the new one TOWERS over the original.

This is one seriously badass looking 2008 though.
