I just took some measurements and it's gonna be pretty tough to fit a door as a top in the space I want to use. But I don't really want a large workbench. Just something with enough room to work and hold my vise. I will probably set it up for reloading too.

3/4 particle board with 1/4 inch hard masonite. Oak trim for purty.

Herr O, I have the same Craftsman chest and that's partly what's limiting my size. I have it between my current bench and hot water heater. If I built one like yours, I'd be set.
