Quick guys....BMW E39 OE glass manufacturer = ?

I need to schedule a replacement window for my BMW and I don't know what the OE brand is.

Will it make a difference on the driver's window if it's OE or not?

Is the og glass still there? Look for markings...

Apologise if this was *duh* advice.

If the windshield is factory it will have the name printed. I am thinking it starts with an "S" but I can't find anything on the BMW forums to confirm that.

BTW-Unless you actually care about the glass being OEM just get the aftermarket version. No one will even know.

I'm at the office, and I'm trying to set up a replacement appointment. Don't have access to the car...

...but I just got a hold of one of the kids.

The brand is SICURCIV. I'm not sure if a replacement brand (ATI) will be so sucky that I will regret not buying the OE part. It's a matter of waiting for it. I can get my glass replaced tomorrow...or wait until maybe Tuesday after Memorial Day.

I've decide to be patient and wait for the OE glass to be delivered and I'll have the glass company out to the house to install it.

Pilkington. I've had my windshield replaced twice both times (once at the dealer) the glass had the Pilkington name and BMW logo. I'm sure there is more than one supplier.

FWIW, my '03 E39 wagon has 3 brands of factory glass, with Sicursiv used on the driver's window:

Windshield: Splintex
Driver and front passenger side glass: Sicursiv
Rear passenger glass, both sides: Splintex
Rear hatch glass: Sigla
