Is it a job if you don't get paid? I grew on a farm. Dad had a full time job. I had 4 sisters, so was the only boy to do the work. A childhood of hard labor and going to church 5 times per week (no kidding).

Happy days when I started working 7 days a week in a gas station at age 15.....Left home and started college at age 17. Had enough money saved up to pay for the 1st 2 years when I started but one month in, I got bored and got a job too.....Worked 40 hrs a week in my last 2 years of college. At graduation time, I put 50% down payment on my 1st house.....Memories of the farm always kept me going....

I went in the Navy right out of high school. Once I got out I was fairly motivated to go to college, but I got a real estate license and dropped out of college to do real estate full time. Unfortunately in my early 20s I still looked 16 and had a hard time convincing folks I knew what I was talking about. The broker who co-owned the RE office had his diploma hanging on the wall in his office. I remember thinking that if this guy could get through college then I certainly could. That's when I got serious, got back in school and started studying.
