What goes around comes around, I can't think of a lower job than repo man, bill collector or tele marketer, I'd sooner dig ditch.

What's wrong with being a repo man? You don't pay the bill, you lose possession of the property. It seems pretty simple to me.
The "low" people are the idiots who take on debts they can't repay - like housing speculators, mortgage "flippers" from the last five years, etc. They get what they've got coming. I do agree with you with respect to telemarketers though - direct marketers, spammers and salespeople in general (at least those pushing stuff unsolicited - a sales guy with whom I initiate contact directly I have no problem with). |
I smell pork. :^)

someone's gotta pick up the bank's property. I did it for a while. Low is the scum that I snatched collateral away from, so pull your head out of your ass and consider another perspective.

A repo guy i know just repoe'd another repo guys car yesterday locally.
I've repoe'd a few fellow repo men over the years. We gotta pay our car payments too. Quote:
If there were no repo men there would be no car financing. You'd have to buy everything cash up front. Of course i rather suspect that was just a dig at me from one of my favorite places on earth, BC Kanada. If you BC boyz keep annoying me i'm going to fetch a pelican or two and invade the whole country. 3 or 4 of us should be overwhelming force for any mission in Kanada. ;) The incident in the story above, btw, is why i preferred having a large male partner, instead of a chick. Sure, the chick can go down on you while you're cruising around the hood....but she'll be about useless as a deterrent value if SHTF. |

Three threads about repo guys? Sounds like somebody got their car snatched. Get your panties out of a bunch, make your payment and quit trying to be sly and attack a board member and a profession.

That's the rub when it comes to buying on credit - you're not buying on the basis of your current situation (employed, making good money, whatever), you're buying on the basis of BELIEVING you can maintain your solvency and ability to repay for the next X months (or years). Why do you think so few people are buying on credit these days? Aside from the fact that lenders aren't really lending, there aren't that many borrowers borrowing simply because they don't trust their future situations. The "scumbags" are the ones who either say "I don't care - if it ends up that I can't repay at some point at least I'll have been able to use the house/car/whatever for as long as I did - I'm not going to make special effort to make the payments" or the ones who say "I don't care - if it ends up that I can't repay at some point, I'll just either destroy/trash/hide/dismantle the property" - in other words the ones who would vilify the repo man/foreclosure guy/whoever instead of being a man, facing the realities of their own situation and saying "I've done what I could to stay on top of this and can't anymore - take it". Anyone that would take a shot at a repo guy has serious character flaws. They're in denial about the reality of their own situation. |
