168 CD's
I have a room in the basement that has most, okay some of my outdoor stuff. I would like to clear out more of it so I can fit more outdoor gear in. In there were 2 boxes which contained 168 CD's. They were last taken out when I ripped everything to Itunes. Our family now has 4 Ipods so I dont think we are ever going back to CD's.
Its time for them to go. I found a place that buys used CD's, any guesses as to how much I will get? |

Keep them for backup if your HD dumps. And depending upon what format you ripped them to, you might want to rip in the future to higher. And old CDs usually have a reasonably original A to D transfer or the original digital file. Compilations & remastered discs are getting scrunched dynamically to increase the output level to win the iPod shuffle. The original CD will often sound much better.
Just sayin' . . . Or send me a list & I'll buy some. Ian

I've used wherehouse music to trade in CDS before. You got one price if you wanted cash, but you got more money if you traded for a gift card, then you could buy new/used CDS or DVDs.
The price varies per CD, it could run anywhere from .50-4.00.

If you sell the CDs, wouldn't you legally have to delete the rips?
Seriously, I'd put them in sleeves so they take less room, and keep them. You may need to rip them into a different format someday. 168 CD's won't take alot of room. |

The music is everything from ABBA to ZZtop, I havent bought CD's in years so its mostly old music now. I did rip it into higher quality when I originally did it so I'm not too worried about that. As far as back up goes I have all my music on the one ipod and I also have a harddrive in a fireproof box with all the music and pictures on it. I have also thought about throwing it all onto my laptop as well.
I dropped off the box today and they said they will be going through it on Sunday and Monday. My hopes arent too high but I hope its somewhere in between Legion and Targa911s's estimates ![]() Ian, I did think about selling individual disks but just building the list seemed daunting and dealing with individuals nickle and dimeing me seemed even worse. Dropping off a box seems like an easy solution even if it means I lose a few bucks. Wana buy a Sony 5 disk changer?

I've used secondspin.com before. You can see what they will pay you as you enter your cd, dvd, game, or whatever. Send them in and they credit paypal or send you a check.

Why don't you donate them to your local library. That way if you ever need them again you can check them out!
Good luck, Michael
