RIP Officer Coleman.

I hope they can find the punks who fled and charge them with murder.

To the cop bashers here-could YOUR workday end like this?

Head416 06-11-2010 04:33 PM

Luckily they crashed shortly after and were arrested.

"Coleman [33] leaves behind his wife, Jamie, 2-year old son, Ryan and an 11-month old daughter, Shaylen."

Tobra 06-11-2010 05:54 PM

Two kids and a wife, devastating.

How long would it take to get to 100 in a Focus with 4 passengers? Lucky they were not in a Suburban, would have probably killed more people.

Sick sad world.

It appears to be holding down the flag.

speeder 06-12-2010 10:41 AM

Crazy question maybe but where do you think the flag came from? I've never seen a flag covering a body at an accident scene before. Who carries an American flag around for situations like this? The picture and the event itself is terrible but the latent reporter in me just wonders about things like this. (Three years of journalism school, no degree).

So let me get this straight... The CHP makes sure they've got a spare flag and shovel packed in their patrol cars just in case something like this happens?

Weird.
